The Pentagon announced its readiness to transfer the requested 1000 howitzers and 300 HIMARS MLRS to Kyiv.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the United States is ready to provide Ukraine with the recently requested weapons in the form of 1000 howitzers and 300 M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. According to Austin, the Pentagon is ready to provide Kyiv with a large batch of weapons. At the same time, it is noteworthy that a decision on deliveries can be made as early as June 15, 2022, during a meeting of representatives of the defense departments of NATO member countries at the German military air base Ramstein.

Answering the question of journalists about whether Ukraine's request for the supply of an unprecedented amount of weapons (in particular, we are talking about 1000 long-range artillery installations, 1000 drones, 500 tanks, 2000 armored combat vehicles and 300 heavy MLRS) will be satisfied, Pentagon head Lloyd Austin noted that all necessary assistance will be provided to Kyiv.

“The United States is ready to provide everything and help Ukraine succeed”, - said the head of the US Department of Defense.

Experts, in turn, note that the supply of such large weapons to Ukraine is unlikely to be possible.
