Greece threatens Turkey to strike at the Bosphorus

Greece threatens to paralyze the Bosphorus with a SCALP cruise missile strike.

Greek Air Force Rafale fighters are ready to strike with SCALP cruise missiles at the Bosphorus Strait in the event of an intensification of the confrontation between Athens and Ankara. According to retired Greek Vice Admiral Konstantinios Egkolfopoulos, Greece is considering the possibility of destroying bridges across the Bosphorus Strait, which will also lead to the complete closure of the Strait itself for the passage of ships.

It is reported that Greek Rafale fighters with SCALP missiles are stationed at the air base in Larisa and this can indeed pose a rather serious threat, especially given the destructive power of SCALP cruise missiles. At the same time, Turkey notes that Ankara has Russian S-400 Triumph air defense systems, which are capable of stopping Greek fighters even over the waters of the Aegean Sea.

“A few days ago, retired Greek Vice Admiral Konstantinos Egkolfopoulos said that the Hellenic Air Force Rafale fighters would take off from the airbase in Larisa and fire three SCALP cruise missiles to destroy bridges across the Bosphorus. However, he did not take into account the presence in Turkey of air defense systems for the S-400 air defense system. The early detection radar provides a detection range of up to 600 km. With 40N6E ultra-long-range missiles, the complex can hit aerodynamic targets at a distance of up to 400 km. If these systems are deployed in Izmir, Greek fighters will be shot down already in the Aegean Sea", - reports the Turkish "Telegram" channel "Türk Kulübü".

At the same time, experts draw attention to the fact that due to the terrain, the radar detection zone will be significantly reduced, and therefore the risk of a successful strike by SCALP cruise missiles remains very high.
