The destruction at the Damascus airport indicates the use of tactical missile weapons.

During the latest IDF strikes against Damascus International Airport, high-yield tactical missiles were used. This is evidenced by huge funnels formed in the asphalt runway, with an approximate diameter of about 6-9 meters and a depth of about two meters.

Video footage released by Syrian state television shows the scale of Israeli strikes on Damascus International Airport. Experts drew attention to the fact that the destruction of the runways was extremely serious. Moreover, experts note that the work of the airport can be restored within the next ten days, however, the use of high-powered tactical missile weapons was probably limited and, according to experts, the IDF strikes were of a warning nature.

It is not known what kind of weapons we are talking about, however, given the fact that the Syrian air defense systems missed a strike with seven missiles at once, six of which hit the runways, and one destroyed the airport terminal, the air defense of the SAR was not ready to intercept such missiles. Moreover, it was previously stated that Israel attacked the SAR using Rampage hypersonic aeroballistic missiles, which have such great destructive power and it is impossible to intercept them with Syrian air defense systems.
