Over the capital of Syria noticed a Russian military aircraft performing strange maneuvers.

A few hours ago, a Russian military aircraft was spotted over the Syrian capital. The Tu-154 board made strange maneuvers, which attracted quite a lot of attention. It is known that before that, a Russian military aircraft took off from the Khmeimim airbase, in the Syrian province of Latakia, and then headed towards Damascus.

According to the Flightradar 24 service, a Russian Tu-154 aircraft belonging to the 223rd Special Flight Detachment took off from the Khmeimim air base. Being between Tartus and Hama, the board turned on the transponder and initially heading southeast, headed for the southern part of the Arab Republic. Subsequently, the plane changed its course and headed towards Damascus, where it suddenly turned around and sharply lowered its altitude, presumably in preparation for landing. However, the Russian plane did not land in the Syrian capital, after which it headed in the opposite direction to the Khmeimim airbase.

Information on this subject is also confirmed by the Israeli media. According to Debka, the Russian plane made several overflights of Damascus International Airport and subsequently headed towards the Khmeimim air base.

“A Russian military passenger plane Tu-154, which took off from the Khmeimim air base near Latakia, on Friday, June 17, tried to land on the runway of the Damascus airport, which was bombed by Israel. The plane made several flights at low altitude over the runway, but did not land, returned to base.- said in the message.

It is not known what exactly such strange maneuvers of the Russian side are connected with.
