Syria recognizes the sovereignty of the LNR and the DNR.

Syria has become the first recognized state that recognizes the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. At the moment, this has not been officially done, however, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic instructed the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare a procedure for the diplomatic recognition of the DPR and LPR.

To date, Syria is the first country that has expressed a desire to recognize the sovereignty of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics. It is expected that other countries of the world may take similar steps, however, today even close Russian allies, for example, such as Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, etc., do not consider recognizing the independence of the DNR and LNR.

When exactly Syria will officially determine the sovereignty of the LPR and DPR remains unknown, however, experts believe that this can happen even before the end of this month, especially given the earlier statements that the Arab Republic is interested in developing relations with the Donbass republics . However, what exactly the parties expect from the relationship is still unknown, especially given the fact that the stability of the situation in both Donbass and the Middle East is very far away.
