The Pentagon has prepared new strikes against Syria, jointly with Israel.

The United States is involved in the preparation of massive strikes on Syria. As it became known, the Pentagon has already selected the key targets that were previously hit and, probably, new targets that are supposed to be destroyed along with Israel. Such data are published by The New York Times.

According to the American publication, it is the United States that is behind the recent strikes on the Damascus International Airport. It is noted that the Pentagon fully supervised the Israeli strikes, although the latter were inflicted by IDF fighters. Nevertheless, there is information that in the near future it is planned to deliver new strikes on strategically important civilian and military targets in Syria. So, in particular, a number of sources report on the likely preparation of strikes against Syrian military air bases and the port of Latakia.

Two days earlier, Israeli warplanes had already made two attempts to approach Syrian airspace, probably just in time for strikes against the province of Latakia. However, at the same time, according to the Syrian columnist for SAA News, fighter jets from the Khmeimim airbase also took to the skies, which, apparently, prevented the IDF from moving on to the attack.

During the latest strike on the territory of the Damascus airport, 7 missile strikes were successfully carried out and, apparently, only one missile was intercepted. In this regard, the effectiveness of the air defense systems turned out to be extremely low.
