Helicopter avoiding anti-aircraft missile caught on video

A combat helicopter miraculously evaded an anti-aircraft missile flying directly at it.

The Mi-24 combat helicopter (according to other sources, we are talking about a more modern version - the Mi-35), was able to successfully evade an anti-aircraft missile, which was supposed to hit it in less than a second. Apparently, the pilot noticed the approaching missile and abruptly performed an evasive maneuver, due to which the missile exploded only 200 meters from the rotorcraft.

On the presented video frames, you can see the moment of evasion of a combat helicopter. The latter, according to the source, carried out strikes with unguided aircraft missiles from a pitch-up and after that, having risen to a height, became a target for MANPADS. Apparently, the pilot of the combat rotorcraft noticed an anti-aircraft missile rapidly flying in his direction and began to perform a maneuver, simultaneously shooting off false thermal missiles. One of the heat traps was able to successfully divert the missile, as evidenced by the corresponding video of the destruction of the missile. This saved the combat helicopter from destruction.

According to preliminary data, the video footage was taken on the territory of the Zaporozhye region, however, at the moment there is no official data on this matter. Considering the information provided by the Avia.pro source, the video footage was taken the day before.
