Ukraine strikes for the first time with NATO RGM-84G cruise missiles

Ukraine for the first time struck with NATO cruise missiles.

For the first time, the Ukrainian military used NATO missile weapons to strike. As it became known, we are talking about high-precision cruise missiles fired by the Ukrainian military at a sea target in the area of Snake Island from a distance of over 60 kilometers. According to reports, the cruise missiles were transferred to Ukraine by Denmark.

At the moment, it is known that the ship destroyed by the Ukrainian military east of Zmeiny Island was hit not by British Brimstone missiles, as originally reported, but by Harpoon anti-ship cruise missiles supplied by Denmark. The missiles were fired at a target from a distance of more than 60 kilometers and accurately hit a sea vessel twice. Information on this score has been confirmed, including by the Ukrainian military and the Pentagon.

“Ukrainian troops hit at least one Harpoon missile on a sea tug,” the US Department of Defense says, confirming Ukrainian claims. According to the official, the missiles were not supplied to Ukraine by the United States, but they are American-made.”, - said the journalist of The Washington Post, referring to the data of a senior official in the US Department of Defense.

It is known that Ukraine deployed Harpoon cruise missiles to the Black Sea coast less than a month ago. The latter were supplied from Denmark. According to preliminary data, we are talking about a version of the RGM-84G missile, with a range of hitting targets up to 140 kilometers.

At the moment, it is known that as a result of two direct hits, the ship received critical damage, but the fact of the ship sinking off the coast of Zmeiny Island has not yet been confirmed, because high-quality satellite images have not yet been taken due to high cloudiness.
