The ATGM pierced the BMP-1 through and through, tearing off the turret with the detonation of ammunition

The consequences of hitting an anti-tank missile in the BMP-1 were caught on video.

The additional protection of the BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle (modernized version - ed.) did not provide the ability to counteract anti-tank missile systems. As it became known, an anti-tank guided missile fired from a short distance could not only pierce an infantry fighting vehicle through the troop compartment, but also, due to the detonation of the BMP ammunition load, tear off a multi-ton tower from the latter, throwing it to a height of several tens of meters.

On the presented video frames, you can see the moment of the exact hit of an anti-tank guided missile in the front of the infantry fighting vehicle. Due to the fact that the launch was made at close range, the rocket literally pierced the armored combat vehicle, leaving by inertia through the troop compartment of the BMP-1. As a result of the detonation of the ammunition load, the BMP turret was torn off by a powerful explosion, throwing it to a height of several tens of meters, which was recorded on video frames.

At the moment, the fate of the crew of the infantry fighting vehicle remains unknown, however, given the details of what happened, captured on video footage, in all likelihood, he had no chance of surviving.
