The moment of the destruction of the MiG-29 fighter over the Kyiv reservoir was accidentally filmed on a mobile phone camera.

Residents of the Kyiv region accidentally filmed the moment of the destruction of the Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter over the Kyiv reservoir. Initially, it was reported that this was a combat helicopter destroyed by MANPADS, however, as it became known now, after almost four months, we are talking about the MiG-29 fighter of the Ukrainian Air Force.

On the presented video frames, you can see the first moments after an anti-aircraft missile hit a combat aircraft. At the moment, it remains unknown whether we are talking about the use of an anti-aircraft missile system, or whether the missile was fired from a man-portable air defense system. Nevertheless, judging by the video footage, the combat aircraft was successfully hit - as a result of the damage received by the combat vehicle, the aircraft began to fall apart while still in the air.

It is known that the pilot of the MiG-29 fighter managed to eject shortly before the plane crashed into the Kiev reservoir, however, the pilot was injured and died - the rescuers who arrived at the crash site were unable to provide the pilot with the required assistance.
